Folds in area carpet

Q   Is there any way to get 'folds' out of an area carpet. It didn't seem to be stored folded (I got it in a roll), but when it was unrolled there were 2-3 folds across it. Will they go away in time or is there a way to get rid of them or even minimize them? Thanks for your help.
A   I had that happen to me, I sprinkled a little water on it and vacumed it, or try steam.
