Q   I have seen two rugs. One is a 100% silk Qum sign by Bahrami 6.5X9.5. The other one is 50% wool 50% silk Esfahan sign by Serafyan. I have been trying to find information in regards to these two Weavers and I have been unsuccesful. Do you have any information about them and approx. prices. I will appreciate any information. Thank you

A   Dear Robert

Serafian was a master-weaver from Isfahan IRAN. He passed away many years ago, but his factory still active. There are many fake Serafian rugs in the market especially in Southern Persian Gulf states like Qatar, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain. Some of the rug dealers hire weavers to just sign the last portion of the rug as SARAFIAN. They are selling these fake rugs as Real SERAFIAN to tourists!

A real Serafian worth more than $ 50,000.00, so If you see somebody offer a SARAFIAN for $2000-$3000 you are just paying for look alike one.

It is hard to find real Serafian and the price is expensive. Check here for real SARAFIAN:
