I am moving to a home that has wall to wall carpeting installed. Not my choice, but will have to live with it for a while. Is there any method of laying area rugs atop the wall to wall that will not move about, or wrinkle etc. I would hate to put my old area rugs in storage until we can afford to restore the wood flooring in the 150 year old home. Thanks for any information you can give on this.

Hi Veronica,
It depends on the type of carpet the area rugs are going on. If the carpet pile is more firm than loose, the area rug will not have the tendancy to shift on you. In either case though, you will want to purchase a pad specifically designed for this purpose to put under the area rug which can be purchased at your local Walmart store. Also, the heavier the area rug, the better it will lay over the carpeting.
