Q   I am interested in installing cork floating flooring over an above ground concrete slab. The house was built in 1976. What must I do for a successful installation

A   Follow the directions. I know how trite that must sound, but all manufacturers print installation instructions.
You didn't say who makes this product or where you got it, so I can't tell exactly where to go to get this info. But I would try the manufacturer's internet site first or the manufacturer's rep if you know who that is.

BTY... A floating floor could be a better choice than a gluedown floor because it lets you avoid some of the subfloor pitfalls you might run into.

Many Thanks, Jim Brothers
