Bathroom Flooring Upgrades
According to the 2020 U.S. Houzz & Home study, bathrooms were the 2nd most popular rooms for renovations among homeowners. As you're spending more and more time at home these days, you may be considering a bathroom update as well. Whether your guest bathroom, master bathroom or both could use some refreshing, our durable and waterproof luxury vinyl offers plenty of versatility!
We're often asked if Karndean LVT be used in bathrooms. Yes! All our products are durable and waterproof when installed properly. Our floors' K-Guard+® surface layer helps to protect from splashes, spills and slips. However, we should note that our products are not meant to be installed within a walk-in shower or vertically along shower walls.
Typically, a guest bathroom has a smaller footprint than most other bathrooms within the home, which may sound limiting, but this actually gives more freedom to experiment with bold design choices in a smaller space. A guest bath is the perfect space to take advantage of our “accent” plank or tile formats or our patterned tiles, as these formats will add plenty of visual interest without overwhelming the eye.
With everyone at home these days, your master bath is likely one of the few spaces where you can go to relax and unwind, so make it luxurious! Our luxury vinyl is compatible with underfloor heating and is both warmer and softer underfoot than ceramic and porcelain tile. Keep your upgrade on budget without sacrificing the look you love with our selection of marble or travertine inspired floors.
Regardless of which of our three constructions of LVT (gluedown, loose lay and rigid core) you choose, the installation time is much faster when compared with other types of hard surface flooring. If you're completing a bathroom upgrade as a weekend project, you may prefer to use our interlocking rigid core floors, but if you want to play with pattern or lay your floor on an angle, we'd recommend our gluedown format.
