Direct Response Publications (DRP), headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida, produces annual directories for the interior design trade in key cities throughout the United States. DRP is the only publisher in the nation to focus exclusively on this highly specialized niche market. Distribution is through showrooms and direct mail to select design professionals. Recipients include interior designers and decorators, architects, custom builders, kitchen and bath specialists, landscape architects and designers, facility managers of commercial properties and real estate agents dealing in executive properties.


DRP published its first design directory in 1988 for The Design Center of The Americas (DCOTA) in Dania Beach, Florida, which it continued until 2006. It now publishes annual directories under contract with design centers in Boston, Chicago, Estero (FL), Laguna Niguel (CA), Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia and Washington DC.


In 2000, DRP introduced the Design Trade series of annual directories for area design districts, which can include several design centers and stand-alone showrooms on nearby streets. It now publishes Design Trade directories in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas / Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco and South Florida. The directories are formatted for ease of use and convenience with divider tabs separating each section by content such as Information, Locations, Showrooms, Manufacturers and Products.


DRP's Web site, www.designtrade.net, was introduced in 2001 and is designed to assist interior design professionals to find what they are looking for anywhere in the country. This powerful search engine allows queries that cover showrooms in 34 cities and manufacturers of 78 different product categories ranging from Accessories and Antiques to Window Treatments and Woodwork. Each listing opens to a page with detailed information about the showroom and a link to its Web site, if available.


DRP’s most recent launch, Design Trade magazine, was introduced in both California and Texas in 2007 after two years in development. The bi-annual magazine has been edited to showcase the people, products and projects of fine design. Editorial opportunities are available for local showrooms and designers to feature their latest products and installations. Features are complemented by articles and columns from industry association leaders, consultants and experts. Every issue includes an extensive product section “Great Finds” that includes regional and national manufacturers’ latest offerings.


DRP publications are distributed free of charge through local showrooms or by direct mail. Magazines are also available on newsstands and by subscription.
