Comments: !!!They really have GREAT TASTE!!!
Decorating JunkMarket Style is incredible! I have seen the Junkmarket Ladies (authors) all over the place from Country Home Magazine to national television and I wanted to see their talent up close. I was pleasantly surprised with the fresh, new, and creative ideas they offered. This book works great on my coffee table and the price is unbeatable. I have finally found two ladies who truly have GREAT TASTE!

Comments: Unique -- Out of the ordinary
I am a JUNKMARKET shopper. Their sales are such popular events and filled with so many junkers that I sometimes miss some of their great ideas. Looking at the book gives me a true sense of what these girls are all about. I now know exactly what to do with all of the great finds I've picked up. My mind is reeling and can't wait to get started on projects of my own. Congrats Ladies! The market has been begging for a book just like this.

Comments: Even if you don't like junk
Clever, Clever stuff. Even if you are not a junk junkie there are lots of ideas for all styles. I don't usually go for this style but many of the ideas work to punch up any decor. Great source book to get you thinking.

Comments: Gem of a book on Junk!
JunkMarket Style is a great book for decorators. recyclers, antique enthusiasts, flea market junkies,do-it-yourselfers,college students, domestic divas, loft dwellers, country collectors,minimalists....and just about anyone who yearns for a little individualism in the nest of their choice. The photographs are fabulous. Even if you are not drawn to the specific "junk" pieces being featured, the rooms they adorn are so cleverly assigned that you can page through the book again and again getting ideas for walls, table arrangements, window treatments, paint colors and so much more.
The recipes for the do it yourself projects are clear, even for those of us less handy. There were several projects that caught my eye, and are on my "to-do" list. The rolling log stools, the mailbox shoe rack, and the three chair bench, top my list of projects. I plan to give this book to friends and am recommending it to anyone I think might appreciate it. Ki Nassauer and Sue Whitney have put together quite an inspirational book, especially for those with a touch of whimsy
in their hearts. I'm looking at Junk a lot differently these days, this book will inspire you to do the same. Happy Junking!

Comments: Refreshing look at junk
I am a home handyman who comes up with a project and then goes out and buys what is necessary. Sue & Ki have provided me with a different approach. They find something that is interesting and unique and then through ingenuity decide what it can be made into. I am now looking forward to going to a fleamarket to find something that I can turn into something usefull. It seems like a fun way to come up with some truly unique decorations. They are very clever ladies.

Comments: Repurposed Junk works in any home decor
Until I bought the book "Decorating Junkmarket Style" I thought old junk turned into useful junk could only be found in the country/cottage style of decorating. Boy was I wrong! Ki and Sue showed me through pictures, ideas and projects that junk can be used in any home decor whether it's upscale Traditional, urban Modern,or wacky fun Eclectic.

The side notes and project pages make the book interesting to read. It's not just a coffee table book for show but a useful book filled with fun projects to make and lots of creative ideas and tips in the quest for the perfect junk piece.

Their down to earth writing made me feel as though I'm a part of their Junkmarket Family. I plan to attend one of their famous sales and I can't wait until "Decorating Junkmarket Style 2" comes out. These ladies definitely have the touch when it comes to Junk.

Comments: Ideas for Everyone
I decorated with my flea market finds long before shabby chic became a decorating term, so I was receptive to the ideas in this book. It would be great if more people would reuse things in the clever ways this book does, instead of always buying new.
The book includes photos of rooms to give you ideas plus has project how-to instructions. Their ideas can be used in a variety of decorating style from country to contemporary. This book will open up your thinking. Read it before heading for the next yard sale or flea market.

Comments: BOUGHT IT FOR MY WIFE
I've always encouraged my wife to sell her creations but she's comfortable just making things for our home and for family and friends. She's been taking stuff out of garage sales or even off the garbage heap and turning them into wonderful creations for years. That's why she was so excited to read this book that was totally up her alley. While we live in the the 'burbs, her heart is for a country-style home and this book has provided her with many ideas to create decorative items that match her country tastes. I don't think she's made anything exactly out of the book but rather used it as a brain-stormer to adapt things she's already picked up, mainly for outside decor and the garden. The book is filled with outstanding photograhphy and excellent instructions. It will certainly inspire you to create some interesting items for your own home.

Comments: What fun!
Before you throw out that junk that has been accumulating for years in the garage, basement or attic, you'd better read Decorating JUNKMARKET Style: Repurposed Junk to Suit Any Dcor by Sue Whitney and Ki Nassauer.

I'm not a decorator - I admit it. I love what people do to houses, but I'm not talented in that area. I must say though, Decorating JUNKMARKET Style is fascinating! I believe that even I can take junk and make something useful and attractive out of it.

The book has enticing samples of repurposed junk that is set off with great pictures. Also included are junking tips and directions for taking that piece of junk and transforming it into a thing of purpose and beauty.

I love this book! Even if I never junked, it would sit on my coffee table to be read again and again. This book is a winner!

Comments: Jump Start for Out of the Box Designing
The ideas were unique and imaginatie. The directions for building projects were well done-step by step photos for the more complicated designs would have been helpful to us novices. I liked the sense of fun that the book coveys. Perhaps a volume II could give marketing tips for selling creations inspired by Sue and Ki.

I purchase a lot of these types of books for inspiration. I can honestly say this was one of my favorites. Great ideas, fun to read. If you are like me with an old house full of odds and ends, you will truly be inspired.

Comments: The worst decorating book ever!
I can't believe everyone else has rated this so highly. The ideas are not inspired at all, and everything still looks like junk--junky junk. There is one (one!) good idea in my opinion, and that is the coffee table made out of an old covered playpen. Unfortunately, the chances of finding such a playpen are zero to nil.

The pictures don't help. The book design is too "artsy" and the ladies have placed numerous pictures of themselves doing "funny" things into it. A complete waste of space. There is not much information to be gained from the photos.

Overall I was very disappointed with this book.

Comments: I love JUNK
Some great ideas in this little book. If you like junk, you'll probably like this one. Not the best Junk idea book, but I always believe if a couple good ideas come from it, then it is worth the money!

Comments: Just ok
I was not overly impressed. I love shopping for salvage items and giving them new life. However, although they definitely give some unique and different ideas, it just was not my style. There are definitely better books out there addressing this topic.
